Fire Extinguisher Shop Technician & Warehouse Associate

Job description:
Manage work orders to service fire extinguishers, organize material that pertains to fire and life safety systems, stock/fill orders, track tools, and occasionally drive a company vehicle to deliver material. This job would also support as a back-up role for our purchasing agent. This is an in-person only position to work at our South office at 1106 54th Ave E Tacoma, WA. 98424.

Responsibilities:
As a team member of Smith Fire Systems, the candidate will be required to:
- Repair, restock, empty, inspect, and or test fire extinguishers at our warehouse
- Report to office warehouse daily M-F
- Work 40 hours/week minimum
- Stock material
- Organize and track tools
- Deliver items with a company vehicle, to various addresses when/if needed
- Update material orders & communicate with sales associates
- Support purchasing agent when needed/directed
- Hold and maintain a current Seattle Certification FEX-1 (Training to achieve this certificate is available, but a current certification is desired)
- Always present a professional image of Smith Fire Systems
- Use a computer to manage stock and review/update work orders
- Handle deliveries of material/tools when directed
- Provide and maintain an organized and clean workspace
- Work independently
- Communicate with all departments of Smith Fire Systems
- Ability to work with hand tools and power tools
- Candidate will need to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Relevant trade experience:
Experience: 2+ years (preferred)
Certifications: Seattle FEX-1 (preferred)
Employment Requirements:
High School diploma / GED
Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a DMV background check.
Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (THC not included in testing).

Fire Sprinkler Designer

Employment Type: Full Time
Education:
- Associates or bachelors degree in drafting, engineering, mathematics (Preferred)
- Relevant industry experience.
Experience:
- 3 years minimum performing fire sprinkler design utilizing AutoCAD, REVIT, HASS, or other design software.
Certifications:
- NICET III Water-based systems layout (Preferred)
Employment Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

- Must pass criminal background check.

Inspection Lead

Responsibilities:
- Inspection, Testing & Maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment.
- Manage Tools and equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks.
- Manage job site and completion of assigned work in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent Customer Service.
- Work effectively with office staff to improve service delivery.
Qualifications for a successful candidate are:
- Excellent organization skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as a part of a team.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office).
- Ability to Lift up to 90 lbs.
Certifications Required:
- NICET II ITT
- Washington State Dept. of Health BAT License
- Washington State Dept. of Labor & Industries Specialty Plumbers License
- Seattle Certificate for AS-1, FA-1
Background:
- Valid WA State driver’s license with acceptable Driving Record.
- Security and background check
- Physical and clean drug screening.
Educational Requirement:
- GED / HS Equivalency
